DCSS Privacy Policy

This notice is posted pursuant to California Civil Code 1798 et seq.

  • The California Department of Child Support Services (DCSS) and each of its Applicable Organizations, obtain personally identifiable information only through lawful means.
  • Personally identifiable information collected by DCSS and Applicable Organizations are relevant to the purposes for which they are collected. DCSS specify the reasons for collection of personally identifiable information at or before the time of collection.
  • DCSS does not disclose, make available, or use any personally identifiable information for purposes other than the reasons specified at or before the time of collection without the consent of the subject of the information or as authorized by law or regulation.
  • All personal information collected and maintained by DCSS is secured against loss, damage, modification or unauthorized disclosure. DCSS use multiple technological and procedural approaches to protect against unauthorized disclosure of this information pursuant to current laws and best practices. These practice and policies are reviewed regularly.

These policies have been developed and are maintained in accordance with the Information Practices Act of 1977 (California Civil Code 1798 et seq.) and in accordance with Government Code Section 11019.9.
